Bio

Catharina graduated magna cum laude from George Mason University with a BA in English and Studio Art and received her Elementary I & II credentials at the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies in Maryland. Her first experience in Montessori education began as a child, when she attended Montessori schools from the age of 18 months to seven years. Before joining MSNV, she worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a writer, editor, and website designer. Catharina came to MSNV’s elementary program in 2003, first as an assistant and then as a classroom teacher. In addition to teaching at MSNV, Catharina is a teacher trainer at the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies. Her two children both graduated from MSNV.

Bio

Andreka joined MSNV in 2017. As the school's storyteller she enjoys sharing the many stories that make MSNV special and capturing moments of the school community living out MSNV's mission. She received her B.A. in Communication from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and her master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Andreka has spent much of her career working in informal science education, with over a decade spent leading the marketing and communication efforts for a nonprofit science center. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
