    Manon Diz joins MSNV this fall as an intern. She comes with three years of teaching experience and plans to begin her Montessori training this fall. She is already very familiar with Montessori, as she attended Primary at MSNV and her mom Sra. Ingrid has worked at MSNV for years. Manon has a Masters in Education, various awards and certificates, and is fluent in four languages! Her multicultural experiences will provide many learning opportunities for our students and community.

    Alyssa, who joined MSNV in 2021 as a Lower Elementary Teacher, has been an elementary teacher in North Carolina, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia since 2017. She received her Bachelor of Science (B.S.E) in Unified Early Childhood Education from the University of Kansas in 2017. Alyssa obtained an Elementary I credential from the Barrie Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies in Silver Spring, Maryland in July 2022. She is a fan of the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team and the Kansas City Chiefs football team. Alyssa enjoys jump rope, listening to NPR Podcasts, and completing crosswords from The New York Times.

    Amanda Glithero came to MSNV in 2008 after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Montessori Education from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is AMS credentialed at the Elementary I and II levels (ages 6-12). In 2017, she obtained a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education from George Mason University. She is especially passionate about literacy education and holds an AMS Elementary Reading Certificate, AMS Writing Certificate, and a Wilson Level I Certification and Dyslexia Practitioner Credential. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, creating mosaics, and exploring new places. Currently, Ms. Amanda serves as a co-teacher in the Bald Cypress Lower Elementary community.

    Ms. Muiríde comes to MSNV with over 25 years of experience as a Montessori teacher, including a decade as the owner and director of a Montessori school in the area. She has taught both in the United States and internationally, and guided students in both the Primary and Elementary levels.

    Elizabeth received her Primary, Lower and Upper Elementary credentials and Master’s degree in education at the Center for Contemporary Montessori Programs at St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul, MN. She came to MSNV in 2011 after teaching for six years in Lower Elementary at a Montessori charter school in Minnesota. Since moving to Northern Virginia, Elizabeth has enjoyed exploring the East Coast and beyond during her summers. She is also an MSNV parent. Her daughter is in her sixth year at MSNV and continues her journey as a second year in Lower Elementary.

    Dave works as an Upper Elementary assistant for both classes and was also a MSNV parent. Prior to joining the Hillbrook staff Dave taught World Geography, U.S. History and served as the Model United Nations faculty advisor at Williamsburg Middle School in Arlington, VA. In addition to working at MSNV, Dave is an independent tour guide leading tours of the Washington, D.C. area for school groups, families and corporate groups. Dave received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, History and Secondary Education from Augustana College (Rock Island, IL).

    Aaron Pierce is one half of the co-teaching team in Bald Cypress. He has been an employee of MSNV for sixteen years, and first started there as a parent eighteen years ago. He received his B.A. in Philosophy from Washington College in Chestertown, Md. and his Montessori Elementary 6-12 credential from the Center for Guided Montessori Studies in Sarasota, FL. He is the father of two children, Jal and Hazel, both of whom are a part of the MSNV family..

    After attending a Montessori Elementary school, Jackie Savage graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in 2006. She was thrilled to immediately begin her Montessori teaching career at MSNV. She earned her Montessori certification and Masters in Montessori Education from Loyola University in 2008. She then helped start MSNV’s Upper Elementary program. In 2020 she transitioned to her current role as a Lower Elementary teacher. She loves spending time with friends and family, eating delicious food, and reading. She is also a proud MSNV parent, as both of her boys attend MSNV's Valleybrook campus.

    Timmy, who joined MSNV in 2014, has been a Lower and Upper Elementary teacher in the Washington, DC area since 2003. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing with a focus on Poetry and minors in Literature, Philosophy, and Religious Studies from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2000 and his Master of Arts, Education in Montessori Studies from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2017. He holds Elementary I & II credentials from the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies. Timmy has presented a number of workshops at national Montessori Conferences on a range of topics: including poetry, woodworking, ecology, peacemaking, and jazz. A published poet, he is also an avid maker, tinkerer, crafter, carpenter, and scientist. Timmy enjoys biking, soccer, and going on adventures with his partner, Katie, and their child, Bea, 2021 MSNV graduate.
