Casey has been a part of the MSNV team for 10 years! She has experience with all levels and even Extended Day! Casey received her Montessori training from Northern Virginia Montessori Institute in Ashburn in 2018. For the last four years, she has been a co-lead with Ms. Kathryn in American Holly. When she’s not at MSNV, she’s at home having fun with her 3 kids or taking them for wild adventures!
Kathryn has been a part of the MSNV team as a Primary Co-Lead for 8 years. Prior to joining the MSNV, she worked as a Montessori Primary assistant while obtaining her Montessori license from the Northern Virginia Montessori Institute in 2016. Kathryn graduated with her bachelors degree at Radford University in 2014. When she is not teaching she enjoys fitness classes and spending time with her husband and her baby boy!
Melissa has been a Montessori educator for 27 years. Having worked alongside her mother when she taught Montessori, Ms. Melissa knew this teaching method was special and continues to see how transformative it is for children every year.
She earned her AMS Montessori Credential at Carlow College in Pittsburgh, and finished her training with an internship at Western Pennsylvania Montessori School where she became a lead teacher. She moved to Northern Virginia in 2002 to work at a local Montessori School for 22 years. While working there she took on the roles as a mentor, curriculum coordinator and also served on an AMS accreditation team.
She has a 12 year-old son who has been in Montessori since he was 10 weeks old and will continue his Montessori journey into Middle School at MSNV this fall.
Rachel earned her Early Childhood credential at the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies at the Barrie School in Wheaton, Maryland. She has worked at MSNV since 1993 in many different capacities, including that of Extended Day teacher and summer camp Instructor. Rachel loves children and art and has one daughter who attended MSNV.
Ms. Sindy has over 15 years of experience in early childhood education and holds an AMS Early Childhood Credential from the Barrie School. She joined the MSNV community in 2021 and is passionate about creating a warm, welcoming classroom where children feel safe, happy, and excited to learn.
Born and raised in Northern Virginia with Peruvian and El Salvadorian roots, Ms. Sindy is fluent in both English and Spanish. She loves building strong connections with her students and their families and enjoys bringing her love of baking and cooking into the classroom. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog —and traveling whenever she can.
