New Valleybrook Campus

As a complement to the wooded Hillbrook campus, Valleybrook is the school in the “meadow.” Located in Falls Church, Virginia, the Valleybrook campus will include a fully renovated building scheduled to open in the fall of 2010. Designed by an award-winning architect, the Valleybrook building features large, light-filled Montessori classrooms and green technology including a green roof. The Valleybrook building and grounds are specially designed to meet the needs of children ages 2 to 5.

In the future, the Valleybrook campus will have a natural play area designed by Natural Playgrounds Company. Natural play areas combine existing site features with elements such as rocks, paths, gardens, climbing structures, shelters, etc., all made of carefully selected natural materials. Architecture

Set in a quiet, wooded area, away from noise and distraction, the MSNV facility was designed to reflect the Montessori approach to education. It was created by two architect-parents especially for children: furniture, apparatus and even the sinks have been selected to fit shorter bodies and smaller hands.

Classrooms

The classrooms are beautifully equipped with a wealth of Montessori materials and teaching aids, many of which have been created by MSNV's own staff. The school library contains a wide selection of books designed to encourage further studies and the joy of reading. In addition, the teachers use the library to supplement the book collections in their classes.
